100 different things inspired by 100 different people

Seen all the projects that people are creating to celebrate Summerhill School’s 100th Birthday has inspired me to do things that I have never done, or things that I used to love doing but have stopped for some reason. Things that I once wanted to learn, but never committed to; things that I never thought doing because they are not part of my subjective reality; things I don’t relate, things!
The idea came to my head while watching Henry’s tree climbing! I used to climb trees often at Wimbledon Common but for some reason I stopped doing it… ‘No, no, no!’
Doing ‘100 different things’ will be a great fun for me! I am so excited!
My head does not follow order of things, so although some things might have a lower number in a sketch list, they might be done in different order. Life is (at least) three-dimensional, so back and forth it is!
100 different things inspired by 100 different people!
Let’s (I mean I ) do this!

Thing #1: Climb a Tree – Inspired by Henry Readhead

It was so much fun to climb a tree once again! Thanks to Henry I have been rescued and will try to keep it to a daily basis funexcercise!

If you press the link underneath, you can watch the little video of the climbing! And I have added some pics too! Let me know! πŸ™‚

Thing #2: Drawing my Logo in Illustrator- Inspired by Helene C. Hersdal

It has been so much fun to transform my hand drawing into an Illustrator drawing. I was inspired by my wife, Helene, who has been learning Illustrator by herself for a little while. She helped me a lot having lots of patience with my impatiences! πŸ™‚

Following are the pictures of the hand drawing and the Illustrator drawing afterwards. 2 different things done, 98 to go! Hehehe!

Thing # 3 – Drawing a Self-Portrait – Inspired by Alex (Summerhill Art Teacher)

I have never been as disciplined as I would like to in terms of drawing. I love writing stories but I feel like I can’t draw, but I guess I am a bit too perfectionist and instead of having fun, I end up not doing it. However, I drew my first self-portrait based on a a selfie I took of myself. I will post both, the orinal pic and the drawing!

It was fun and challenging but I am happy with the outcome. πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks Henry!
Just came back from climbing the same tree that I recorded yesterday! Maybe the herniated discs I have in my back will finally go back in! hehehe
I am still figuring out how to upload things on my project page, so another learning here! So many things intrinsic in doing 100 different things! πŸ˜‰

    1. Thanks honey! I am working (with my wife’s assistance) on the editing of the climbing tree video (#1 thing, inspired by Henry)! Hopes up that I can still upload it today or later tomorrow! πŸ™‚ xx

  1. Hey Jay
AMAZING!! So lovely watching the video!! I’m so glad I inspired you. I was impressed with your camera assistant too! Lovely having the music over the top. What a lovely start to your project! Generally a whole lot of ‘lovely’! πŸ™‚

    1. Henry! It is also lovely to hear your sweet comment about it! πŸ™‚ Thaaaanks!
I passed the message to my lovely assistant which has also found that song that I loved too!
Today I completed thing # 2! πŸ™‚ Happy times, just 98 to go! Hehe

  2. Hey Jay
Love the new illustration!! Very cute!!
I’m starting to think I might need to learn how to use that too. πŸ™‚
Already looking forward to your next instalment.

    1. Thanks! It’s always empowering to read your comments! 😊
Learning the Illustrator techniques without a drawing was very boring for me: I needed to work straight with my own little drawing… In two days it was done! Obviously not the most perfect one, but it was fun! So, if you are impatient like me, just use a drawing right away! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
The thing #3 will be physical again, so my mind and body get a good balance between each other! Hehehe
      How’s climbing going?

  3. What a great idea! Wondering what I can inspire you to try….. knitting? Singing? Introduce yourself to a horse? Bird-watching? Making a nature area in your garden? These are some of the things I love to do…

    1. Hei Zoe! Thank you for your message! I feel very honoured that you enjoyed this project! Wow! You are ‘um poΓ§o de humildade’ 😊 because you are a living inspiration: all the battles, the generosity, and all these other things that you just mentioned!
Knitting: I learned the basics last year by watching YouTube videos and manage to make a scarf to my mum 😊
Singing: not sure if you want to listen to me! πŸŽΆπŸ™„πŸŽ€πŸ˜‚
Introducing myself to a horse: that is something I’ve never done! πŸ΄πŸŽπŸ€”πŸ˜Š
Bird-watching: I worked in a lodge in the Brazilian wetlands (Pantanal) and that region has almost 400 species of birds. So, I used to join the guided trips sometimes and loved every single trip! Most of the tourists we have had were bird-watchers from all over the world. People think that they would see more animals in the amazon forest, but that’s not the case. https://caiman.com.br/ this is the link of the place I used to work for. They host a project for the conservation of the blue macaws, and jaguars πŸ™Œ. It has been 20 years since I’ve seen that place, it’s time to place a visit! Wanna join me?
Make a nature area in your garden: not sure if I understood what you meant here. πŸ™„
This week I didn’t do any new thing for the project yet… I’m late i think!

  4. Ha ha Jay I would love to join you. Let’s make a date to go birdwatching in Brazil! Meanwhile I will watch my little local birds and love them…
A nature area in the garden is just to encourage wildlife – a small pond, some long grass, wild flowers…not too neat and tidy. Good luck with your projects xx

    1. Deal! Let’s make a date to go birdwatching in Brazil!
I might be on the right track: we live in the same flat for over 5 years and I only cut the back yard grass in the first year! 😊 The only problem are my cats who hunt butterflies πŸ™„
      Thanks for the wishes!
How do I introduce myself to a horse? 🐎
Do I bow? Do I sing?
